Honey Facial Mask Recipe
Facial masks, as part of a weekly or monthly (or whenever you can fit it in)
face care program are an excellent facial food offering nourishing, healing
and relaxing benefits. While there are a variety of masks offered for sale
(and at some point I may offer one too) you can easily make one at home using
your own local honey. Honey is an excellent for all skin types. If you are
feeling adventurous try adding any combination of honey, clay, yogurt, avocado.
For additional benefits add 3-4 drops of essential oils to each TBS of honey.
peppermint to cool and wake up your face.
lavender (or tea tree) and camomile for soothing and healing irriated/blemished
skin.
sandalwood for hydrating qualities,
orange or lemon or sage for oily skin,
lavender on its own for its simply delightful aromatic qualities,
rosemary, lavender and orange for general cleansing.
One tablespoon of honey is enough for 2-3 masks. Tie hair back and apply to
entire face using fingertips. A towel around your shoulders will catch any
potential drips. Avoid eyes. Leave on for 15-20 minutes. Sip a cup of tea
and/or place cooled chamomile tea bags on your eyes. Soak your feet. Rinse
with warm water. Follow with a cool water rinse, your favorite toner and Soothe!
or your favorite moisturizer.
Makes enough for 2-3 masks. Invite some friends over or store
in glass container. Does not require refrigeration
