Lavender Lemonade
The original Pink Lemonade, perhaps, this variation of the classic lemonade recipe is surprisingly (to some) delicious, refreshing and fun to make. My favorite part is adding the lavender tea to the lemonade and watching it transform into a deliciously brilliant pink color.
Make 6 cups of lemonade as you usually would, from scratch
or concentrate- either works. Place in a clear glass jar or pitcher. In a
separate container, place 1/4 cup of dried lavender (or 1/3 of of fresh lavender).
Pour 2 cups of boiling water over herb and cover. Let sit for 10 minutes.
Strain the herbs from the water. Gather the kids and family around and slowly
pour the lavender tea concentrate into the lemonade and ooo and aaa over the
delightful change in color.
Pour into clear glasses, add a sprig of mint and enjoy this refreshing and
delicious variation of a old time favorite.
Variation: Add mint leaves, or hibiscus flowers- fresh or dried- and steep along with the lavender.
